In terms of transportation investment, from January to July this year, the country completed a total of 1,795.7 billion yuan in transportation investment, an increase of 9.4% over the same period last year. Among them, the investment in highways and waterways was 1353.7 billion yuan, 75.2% of the annual investment target of 1.8 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%. Sun Wenjian said that since the restoration of toll collection on May 6, the operation of the national expressway network has been generally stable, congestion has been significantly eased, and traffic efficiency has been significantly improved.
Data in the two months of June and July showed that the total flow of highways across the country reached 1.7 billion vehicles, which has recovered to 97.4% of the same period last year. The traffic data of the expressway network in 26 provinces across the country show that the average vehicle speed has increased from 61 kilometers per hour in the same period last year to 71 kilometers per hour now. Trucks have increased from 51 kilometers per hour to 55 kilometers per hour, and passenger cars have increased from 67 kilometers per hour. The utilization rate of truck ETC cards has also approached 50%, which has significantly improved the overall traffic efficiency of the entire expressway network; truck traffic has increased and the idling rate has decreased.
