Bentley Octopus e-axle - DR

After 18 months of research as part of its Octopus program (an acronym which we will spare you the explanation for it is so far-fetched, even for us French who are nevertheless champions in the field), Bentley and its partners present an engine revolutionary electric: it would be devoid of rare materials and copper coil, which would reduce production costs, considerably facilitate recycling, and above all cut short some of the ethical debates around electric cars.

All-electric model in 2026

The Octopus program partners Bentley with 9 other UK companies. Their common objective is to innovate in the field of electric mobility, and to make the latter more "clean" (in the broad sense) than it is today.

Bentley EXP 100 GT Concept - DR

Let's be frank, this is just an announcement without precise details as to the "revolutionary" nature of the project. However, we know that the technology explored would not only equip future 100% electric Bentley models, but also hybrid Audi or Porsche models, for example. We also know a deadline: Bentley intends to launch its first 100% electric model in 2026 but before that, as Stefan Fischer, Director of powertrain engineering for the British luxury brand, reminds us, “every model will be entitled to a hybrid solution by 2023 ”.
