China News Service, Lanzhou, August 19 (Reporter Liu Yutao) On the 19th, the signing ceremony for the landing of China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide Asia Titanium Production Base in Silver was held in Baiyin City, Gansu Province. According to the plan, Baiyin will build a comprehensive utilization project of 500,000 tons of clean production process resources and become the world's largest single-scale titanium dioxide production base.

Zhang Xuchen, the mayor of Baiyin City in Gansu Province, said that this will further extend the silver and titanium dioxide industry chain, reduce production and operation costs, drive the development of upstream and downstream enterprises, create more employment opportunities, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the silver industry and high-quality development.

The project was invested and constructed by China Nuclear Huayuan Titanium Dioxide Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide) in Yindong Industrial Park, Baiyin High-tech Zone, with an estimated total investment of 6 billion yuan (RMB, the same below).

100,000 tons of the first phase of the project has been completed and put into production, forming an asset scale of about 2 billion yuan; the second phase is planned to build a production capacity of 400,000 tons, and the investment scale is expected to be about 4 billion yuan. The investment in the finished product processing project containing titanium dioxide is planned for 2020 Construction started in October and it is expected to complete all investments during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

Baiyin City, named after its mines and established as a city for enterprises, is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and in the middle of Gansu. It is China's largest multi-variety non-ferrous metal industrial base and an important new chemical energy base in the west. The territory is rich in mineral resources. 33 kinds of minerals have been discovered, 1.6 billion tons of coal reserves, 1.5 billion tons of proven attapulgite resources, and 4 billion tons of clay reserves. It is listed as a national-level geological prospecting area.

The implementation of this project can make full use of the abundant coal and electricity resources in Baiyin area, and digest waste by-products such as smelting acid and ash on the spot, realize the organic horizontal integration with Baiyin local chemical enterprises, and form enterprise products as raw materials and internal waste The chemical recycling industry chain for external recycling.

The contracted projects on the day focused on cooperation in the supply of raw materials, logistics and transportation, production and domestic water supply and other business areas to ensure continuous production requirements after the project is put into production, effectively reduce project operating costs, and improve the supply efficiency of main raw materials.

China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide is mainly engaged in the R&D, production and sales of rutile titanium dioxide. At present, it has become the titanium dioxide industry second in Asia and sixth in the world in the production and technical service of titanium dioxide.

Wang Zelong, the actual controller of China Nuclear Huayuan Titanium Dioxide Co., Ltd., said that it is expected that in the next three to five years, China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide will have an annual production capacity of more than 1 million tons and become the world's largest high-end manufacturing technology enterprise in the titanium industry.
