Be Safe Be Late - Start working later. For my safety. - Volvo Car BeLux

A study commissioned by Volvo shows that September 1 is considered a stressful day by 40% of employees with school-aged children, and 25% confirm that they do indeed feel stressed on this day. This year, the reopening of schools will be doubly worrying because in addition to driving their children on time to school, some parents will have to start again in the middle of rush hour to start their working day at rush hour ... sometimes after months teleworking.

According to the survey, 5% of employees with school-aged children say they are sometimes anxious about being late for work on the first day of school. 49% of respondents also indicate that they are less attentive or ride less carefully when in a rush. And yet, nearly half of employees indicate that no particular measure is taken in their company on the day of the start of the school year. More than one in five (22%) say they take a day off that day, and only 1 in 5 (19%) say they start work a little later.

Be Safe Be Late

Employees who do not have flexible work schedules (30%) are more likely to feel stressed than employees with flexible work schedules (22%). With its European campaign “Be Safe Be Late”, Volvo is appealing to companies and wants to make them aware of this issue. Depending on the brand, shifting working hours reduces the feeling of stress and distributes traffic better, while promoting greater safety on the road. Hopefully this call will be heard by employers ...
