She noted that the gas that will pass through Nord Stream 2 is necessary for Germany to switch to renewable energy sources.

At the same time, the only alternative is gas from the United States, which will cost more, Schwezig concluded.

Earlier, the head of the German Bundestag Energy Committee Klaus Ernst said in an interview with RT Deutsch that the possibility of discussing US threats to impose sanctions on Nord Stream 2 at the UN level is being studied.
