The Dubai Customs Department, represented by the Passenger Operations Department, stated that the department handled 10.2 million bags for about five million passengers, through 44,358 flights coming to Dubai, during the first half of this year.

She explained that among these measures: warning and awareness posters, the presence of plastic insulation at service delivery sites, floor stickers to define parking areas that are defined by two meters between each passenger, as well as the redistribution of passenger waiting chairs to achieve safety standards, in addition to redistributing the inspection staff, and updating some systems And work procedures to facilitate the flow of travelers.
Customs seizures
The Passenger Operations Department revealed that it was able, thanks to the efficiency and vigilance of customs officers, and with the support of auxiliary inspection devices, to write 472 seizures during the same period, including 364 drug seizures, 32 customs cases, and 76 other seizures.

The Director of Passenger Operations Department at Dubai Customs, Ibrahim Al Kamali, said that the administration has a large and vital role in facilitating the flow of travelers in general, and during the current stage, which is witnessing specific precautionary measures, in response to the repercussions of the new Corona virus in particular.
He stressed that «the administration was at the required level, upon the resumption of the flight activity, by taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of the functional cadre of inspectors on the front lines, as well as passengers and dealers».
He continued: “The administration is working to implement the best regulations relating to travelers through the adaptation of artificial intelligence, and also to be keen to face the next challenges, especially in the field of inspection and to come out with initiatives that contribute to facilitating the procedures of travelers, in light of expectations that their numbers will increase during the next phase, with the increase in the number of flights Coming to the country via Dubai airports ».
Al-Kamali stressed that the procedures followed by the Passenger Operations Department, within the framework of the Dubai Customs plan, which are emanating and consistent with the Dubai government's strategy to confront the Corona virus, pushed towards strengthening safe travel procedures and establishing Dubai International Airport as the best airport in the world.
