Trump announces 'historic peace deal' between Israel and United Arab Emirates

Israel and the United Arab Emirates have signed under the aegis of the United States a "historic peace agreement", tweeted Thursday Donald Trump, allowing these two countries to normalize their relations.

This is a "  spectacular breakthrough  ", commented Donald Trump, calling this normalization a "  historic peace agreement between our two great friends  ".

The head of the American diplomacy, Mike Pompeo, also spoke of a "  historic day  " and a "  decisive step towards peace in the Middle East  ".

"  This is a remarkable achievement for two of the most advanced and technologically advanced states in the world,  " he added in a statement.

"  The United States hopes that this bold step will be the first in a series of agreements ending 72 years of hostilities in the region,  " continued the US Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“  Blessed are the peacemakers. Mabrouk and Mazel Tov  ”, concluded Mike Pompeo, using the traditional formula used to present his congratulations in Arabic and Hebrew.

This peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), negotiated under the leadership of the United States, must lead to a complete normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries of the Middle East. The agreement provides for Israel to suspend the application of its sovereignty over several areas of the West Bank which it evoked annexation, said several officials of the White House.

After long tripartite discussions, which have accelerated recently, the agreement was reached this Thursday by telephone between Donald Trump, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed, crown prince of Abu Dhabi, specifies the US presidency.
