The number of unemployed registered in the offices of the public employment services (formerly Inem) fell by 89,849 unemployed in July (-2.33%), its biggest drop in this month since 1997, according to data from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy .

For its part, the average number of Social Security affiliates stood at 18,785,554 people in July, representing an increase of 161,217 contributors compared to the June average (0.87% more). It is the third month in a row that the system has been employed after the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the last 12 months, the System has lost 747,656 affiliates.

The number of people included in ERTE at the end of the month of July was 1.18 million, which represents a reduction of 712,000 compared to the data of June 30 and represents an average daily output of almost 23,000 workers. In relative terms, the number of people included in ERTE has decreased by 39% compared to June 30 and 67% from the maximum, registered on April 30. Thus, at the end of July, two out of every three people included in ERTE during the pandemic had emerged from this situation.
