Tesla Model 3 - DR

In 2019, for the first time, electrified vehicles (hybrids, plug-in hybrids and 100% electric) sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. An important figure, but which did not even represent 3% of global sales. Europe nevertheless recorded a clear increase in sales of these vehicles: + 93%! In Norway, they represented 56% of the total market! But according to Deloitte, the market share of electrified vehicles could climb by 2030 from 3 to… 32%, or more than 31 million vehicles in the world!

Fall of thermal vehicles from 2026

According to this same report, cars with thermal engines reached a peak in 2017, will experience a very significant drop in 2020, before rising until 2025. But from 2026, these should fade in favor of plug-in hybrids and electrics.

Unsurprisingly, Deloitte also predicts that in 2030, China will lead the dance, claiming 49% of the world market for electrified vehicles, ahead of Europe (27%) and the USA (14%).
