Boris Vallaud, MP for Landes, spokesperson for the Socialist Party. June 9, 2020 - ISA HARSIN / SIPA

“The recovery plan is long overdue: at the end of August, it's too late! Every day lost increases the fracture, ”said Boris Vallaud. The spokesperson for the PS, spoke in an interview with the Sunday Journal this Sunday.

“Whole sectors are waiting for measures, social plans are multiplying and tens of thousands of SMEs will have difficulty repaying their PGE (loan guaranteed by the State). In this context, the fight against poverty and exclusion should be a priority, and yet the State Secretariat dedicated to it has disappeared, ”he laments.

Right-wing politics

According to him, even if it is "still a little early to draw conclusions", Prime Minister Jean Castex, "despite all the energy he shows, manages the crisis from day to day. He is not in the anticipation ”. “The question is whether Castex represents more than a style: a line. That of the President, in any case, has been clarified by the reshuffle, which places most of the responsibilities in the hands of right-wing ministers to lead a right-wing policy, ”he says.

The spokesperson for the PS recalls that his party made, “from June 9, 45 proposals for a rebound: social measures and in favor of employment for the victims of the crisis, sectoral stimulus in the building industry, transport or industry, increased support for businesses, massive investments in ecological transition ”.

The ecological transition as a lever

“For example, we are offering a 'climate bonus': zero remains chargeable on energy performance work, subsidization on means-tested, deferred reimbursement over time. We also propose to inaugurate a new entrepreneurial spirit, with the increased participation of employees on the board of directors and the limitation of salary gaps. We also proposed the creation of an individual emancipation allowance for all young people, because student insecurity is a time bomb ”.

"The answers given today to the crisis depend on the face of the France of tomorrow", he also affirms.
