“They confuse two concepts: the security of Europe and the financial security of Ukraine and Poland ... The same volume of gas that is now coming through the pipeline that goes through Ukraine and Poland, it will go to Europe. They (the Europeans - RT ) will receive the same volume of gas that they are receiving now. Ukraine and Poland will not receive their money for transit, so they are worried about that, ”Ananskikh explained.

According to the deputy, attempts to resist the project have been going on for a very long time.

“They are connected with only one task - to force Gazprom to carry gas at high rates through their states and receive additional dividends on this. There is no talk at all about the struggle for the energy security of Europe, ”the parliamentarian concluded.

Earlier in Kiev, they noted the readiness of Warsaw to fight the "Nord Stream - 2".

In March, Chaputovich said that the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline would lead to negative political and economic consequences for the European Union and dependence on Gazprom.

According to the Polish minister, the project poses "a threat to European solidarity and energy security."
