The executive begins to give a little more details on the economic recovery plan, endowed with 100 billion euros, which will be presented on August 24 in the Council of Ministers. Thirty billion euros should thus be devoted to the ecological transition, announced the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire in the Sunday Journal . Above all, it is ten billion more than the budget mentioned in mid-July.

Promote "a new model of growth"

“With (Minister of Ecological Transition) Barbara Pompili, […] we will ensure that all recovery decisions promote a new growth model based on decarbonisation, energy sobriety and green innovations. The recovery plan will be a green plan, ”insisted the minister. Three sectors will be “priority sectors: energy renovation, transport and energy”, with the first being the renovation of private buildings via an increase in credits from the MaPrimeRénov 'scheme.

The JDD also asked Bruno Le Maire whether the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions linked to the recovery plan had been quantified. "We have a 30% drop in CO2 emissions over ten years for our industry," the Minister simply replied. But, “this trajectory is out of reach at the moment. To meet this objective, we will help the most polluting industrial sites to reduce their emissions. We will provide a first list of these sites at the end of August ”.

Green recovery synonymous with jobs for the minister

In terms of job creation, the green recovery "in the long term, it can be counted in hundreds of thousands everywhere in our territories", assured Bruno Le Maire. According to him, “for the ecological transition to be accepted by all French people, it must create jobs. We are therefore going to initiate a training process so that our choices for new industrial sectors translate into new jobs ”.

The main lines of the 100 billion euro stimulus plan presented in mid-July by the Prime Minister, Jean Castex, referred to four main aspects: development of industry (40 billion), ecological transition (20 billion mentioned then ), skills (20 billion) and solidarity (20 billion).
