  • Two offers for global takeovers of the Camaïeu brand are in the hands of the Lille commercial court.
  • The unions are arguing over the offer they intend to support.

This Friday, a few dozen Camaïeu employees, in receivership, gathered in front of the Lille commercial court, before the decisive examination of the two takeover offers. The CSE and the inter-union CFDT-CGT-FO supporting one, the majority union preferring the other.

"A very large majority of employees, up to 70%, whether they come from offices, stores or the warehouse are in favor of the offer" of the Bordeaux real estate property company (FIB), assured Nordine, secretary of the CE and CFDT delegate.

Unions divided on what to support

Thursday evening, "the CSE of the company voted in favor" of this offer carried by the investment fund specializing in commercial real estate of businessman Michel Ohayon, he assured. “The staff prefer a buyer with strong backs in such an economic situation. "

"This offer maintains more jobs and there is a real project," added CGT delegate Thierry Siwik, accompanied by around twenty employees dressed in bibs in the colors of the inter-union, or t-shirts saying: " smile at the FIB ”.

According to several union sources, the offer provides for the resumption of 511 stores and 2,659 employees, out of the 634 stores and 3,146 employees in the company according to the management balance sheet in mid-July. Contacted, the FIB did not wish to comment on its offer before the hearing.

The competing offer, supported in particular by the current CEO of Camaïeu Joannes Soënen and three funds already shareholders, plans to take over 446 stores. Forty-three will be under the women's ready-to-wear brand of the Mulliez galaxy, Grain de malice. The northern logistician Log's is associated with this offer. In all, this concerns 2,520 jobs according to a spokesperson.

"We came to support our CEO"

This offer is supported by the union UPAE (Unis Pour Agir Ensemble), the majority within the Camaïeu brand (38%). “We came to support our CEO, he arrived and gave us a completely positive vision. If we don't follow it today, tomorrow we will be nothing. On the other hand, we do not know where we are going, in two years we do not know where we will go either… ”responded Raphaëlle, store manager in Faches-Thumesnil.

About twenty employees, mainly store managers and employees, also came to support the current management's offer.

But “what was organized by our former shareholders, our former managers, is intolerable! They use an ordinance which allows them, if they were selected, to erase the debt and set up a large-scale social plan, ”criticized Thierry Siwik.
