Demonstration experiment of joint delivery by 3 major convenience stores Due to a shortage of drivers, July 22, 18:32

In collaboration with the government, the three major convenience store companies, which are facing the issue of securing truck drivers due to lack of manpower, will start loading products on a common truck and deliver them to each store next month. It was.

Convenience store companies use their own distribution routes to deliver products to stores in various locations, but it is difficult to secure truck drivers due to lack of manpower, and maintaining a distribution network is a common issue.

For this reason, Seven-Eleven Japan, FamilyMart, and Lawson, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, collect the products of each company in the same distribution center, load them together on a common truck, and deliver them to the stores of each company in the same district. We have decided to start a demonstration experiment.

The experiment will be conducted for 1 week from the 1st of next month at 40 stores in Tokyo.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expects that the amount of luggage loaded on trucks will increase by about 10% and the number of trucks will be reduced by about 30%.

Seiichi Aoyama, Executive Officer of Seven-Eleven Japan, said, "We want to find ways to collaborate while working hard on products and services at each company, and work to solve problems."
