Apple plans to achieve "carbon neutrality" in its supply chain and products by 2030

  In the "Environmental Progress Report 2020" released that day, Apple stated that it will reduce carbon emissions by 75% by 2030, and the remaining 25% of carbon emissions will be offset by investing in natural environmental protection projects. Apple will achieve its emission reduction targets through measures such as low-carbon product design, improvement of energy efficiency, use of renewable energy, process and material innovation, and investment in environmental protection projects. Apple has now achieved "carbon neutrality" in its global operations.

  Apple CEO Tim Cook said that by fulfilling the "carbon neutral" commitment, he hopes to influence the entire industry to make greater changes.

  In an interview with Xinhua News Agency, Apple’s vice president and managing director of Greater China Ge Yue said that, including Chinese companies, more than 70 global suppliers have pledged to use 100% renewable energy to make Apple products. In 2019, Apple provided training to more than 30 suppliers in China to help them transform to this goal. Ge Yue said that China is a very important production base for Apple. Apple is impressed by China's determination and investment in environmental protection.
