In the first half of the year, Guangxi's electricity consumption in the whole society was 91.15 billion kWh, an increase of 3.9% year-on-year, ranking fifth in the country. In May, Guangxi's electricity consumption in the whole society increased by 13.2% year-on-year, ranking first in the country, showing that Guangxi's economy Strong recovery momentum.
Electricity, as a "barometer" for economic development, directly reflects the economic operation of Guangxi. In the first half of the year, the daily power supply of Guangxi Power Grid hit a new high, reaching a maximum of 527.5 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of 24.0%. On June 22 and 23, the load of Guangxi Power Grid hit a record high for two consecutive days, reaching a maximum of 25.421 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 26.2%. Entering July, the daily electricity consumption continued to maintain a high trend and reached its fourth new high this year on July 16. In terms of industry, in the first half of the year, Guangxi's electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was flat year-on-year, while the primary, secondary, and urban and rural residents' electricity consumption rose across the board, up 5.4%, 4.3%, and 5.1% respectively.

Among the 14 district-based cities in Guangxi, Fangchenggang, Laibin, Baise, Hechi, Guigang, Beihai, Qinzhou, Wuzhou, Yulin, Nanning and other 10 district-based cities have seen an increase in electricity consumption in the first half of the year. Among them, the electricity consumption of the whole society in Fangchenggang and Laibin City increased by 16.7% and 11.9% year-on-year respectively.

On June 30, the company's electricity load reached 153,700 kilowatts, an increase of 22.25% over the load on April 30. According to reports, the electricity consumption of Fangchenggang city increased by 16.7% year-on-year, ranking first in the region. The growth of electricity in Fangchenggang City is a vivid case of Guangxi's economic recovery and the re-starting of traditional advantageous industries.
In the first half of the year, Guangxi's industrial electricity consumption was 58.08 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 2.24 billion kWh, an increase of 4.0%. In the context of declining overseas demand, Guangxi’s industrial electricity consumption has achieved contrarian growth for three consecutive months in April, May, and June. The growth rate in May and June reached double digits, up 10.9% and 10.1% year-on-year respectively. It is worth mentioning that, benefiting from the increase in 5G base station power consumption and remote office power consumption, the power consumption of the information transmission, software and information technology services industry increased by nearly 20% year-on-year.
Wu Hong, General Manager of the Finance Department of China Southern Power Grid Corporation of Guangxi Power Grid, said: "The company has further helped companies reduce electricity costs by taking measures such as lowering electricity charges from industrial and commercial users to households and exempting basic electricity charges from industrial enterprises that meet load rates, and fully supports the resumption of business. The resumption of production will reduce the cost of consumer electricity by about 7 billion yuan in the first half of this year, benefiting more than 1.5 million electricity customers.
