Audi SQ8 - DR

Currently, in the catalog, the Audi SQ7 and SQ8 are powered by a 4.0 TDI diesel V8 of 435hp. Within the VW Group, this choice had been made because the clientele of this type of vehicle travels many kilometers. But at the end of 2020, the V8 TDI engines will be replaced by 507hp petrol V8s because this engine is already offered on the American market and the SQ7 / SQ8 seem to be niche models.

Better performance

The pure performance of the 4.0 TFSI of 507hp surpasses that of the 4.0 TDI: the 0 to 100 km / h is cut down in 4.1 seconds against 4.8 seconds for the SQ7 TDI. However, despite the on-demand cylinder system which deactivates 4 of the 8 cylinders depending on the conditions, the consumption of the SQ7 / SQ8 now exceeds 10 l / 100 km: it takes 12 l / 100 km (276 g / km of CO2 ). As standard, both models will be fitted with the adaptive pneumatic sport suspension with controlled shock absorbers and four steering wheels.

The launch in Europe is planned for this fall with prices showing € 101,120 incl. VAT for the SQ7 TFSI and € 108,350 incl. VAT for the SQ8 TFSI.
