The International Monetary Fund Director, Kristalina Georgieva, confirmed that the Corona crisis entered a new stage that requires flexibility to secure a "permanent and just recovery", warning that the world "has not overcome" the crisis yet.

In an article on a blog published days before a hypothetical meeting of the G20 headed by Saudi Arabia, Georgiyeva listed the priorities, which are to maintain social protection measures "if not expand them," and to continue spending public money to stimulate the economy.

Among these priorities as well, Georgiyeva stressed the need to take advantage of the "opportunity that exists only once in a century", which is to rebuild a world that is "more fair, environmentally friendly, sustainable and intelligent, especially more resilient."

Even with some positive signs emerging, Georgiyeva said, "We have not yet overcome" the crisis, warning that "a second global wave of disease could cause new disturbances in economic activity."

But she noted, at the same time, "critical progress in the search for vaccines and treatments that can stimulate confidence and economic activity."

At the same time, the economist admitted, "These alternative scenarios demonstrate the uncertainty that remains exceptionally high."

The G20 economic powers are holding a summit in difficult circumstances as the epidemic continues to spread, says the World Health Organization.
