  At the "Country is the Forum-Mid-2020 Economic Situation Analysis Conference" organized by the China News Service, Zhang Qi said that in the first half of 2020, important progress has been made in key national poverty alleviation efforts, and local governments have worked hard to overcome the impact of the epidemic on poverty alleviation. The adverse effects have played an important role in supporting measures to deal with the epidemic. At present, we are confident that we will complete the 2020 target of poverty alleviation as scheduled.

  According to official data, in the first half of this year, 25 provinces across the country had 28.301 million poor migrant workers, more than last year. Except for Tibet, the other 24 provinces have outnumbered the poor labor force this year, which is higher than last year. In the central and western provinces, the poverty alleviation public welfare posts placed 4.332 million poor people. Leading poverty-relief enterprises and poverty-relief workshops in 22 provinces in the central and western regions have absorbed more than 1.21 million people from poverty.

  The Poverty Alleviation Office of the State Council of China stated that in the first half of this year, all localities have worked hard to overcome the impact of the epidemic on poverty alleviation. The poverty alleviation and relocation in places have basically been completed.

  There are still 52 poverty-stricken counties in the country that have not removed their hats, 2707 poor villages have not been listed, and the poor people who have established archives have not all lifted out of poverty. According to the deployment, this year the country implemented listing supervision on 52 impoverished counties and 1113 key impoverished villages without removing their hats. Zhang Qi said that at present, it has achieved obvious results in the unsupervised poverty-stricken counties.

  "As the social and economic development improves, we will definitely complete the goal of poverty alleviation in the second half of the year with high quality, and I am fully confident about this."
