The amusement park in the Paris region, which represents almost 7% of tourism in France, reopens on Wednesday but with a very small gauge. "There is Disney, but there is everything that goes around", recalls on Europe 1 Philippe Descrouet, mayor of like de Serris, where the activity of the park is crucial.

It represents no less than 7% of tourism in France: after four months of closure due to coronavirus, the Disneyland Paris park reopens in Seine-et-Marne on Wednesday. And if the economic stake promises to be enormous for the entire agglomeration, the return to normalcy is not for immediately.

10,000 to 12,000 visitors, compared to 70,000 in normal times

"Disneyland reopens at a loss, let's be clear," says Philippe Descrouet the mayor of the neighboring town of Serris, interviewed by Europe 1. "They will welcome between 10,000 and 12,000 people at the start, they will go up to 20,000 but they will not be able to not go beyond, "he says, far from the 70,000 daily visitors usually received in summer. "The rules imposed on them do not allow us to go further." The park plans to take reinforced measures, with the wearing of a mandatory mask, reception adapted to the physical distance instructions for each attraction and distributors of hydroalcoholic gel.

"We will observe," resigned Philippe Descrouet. "It is important for local economic life: Disneyland represents for us significant tax revenue, it is practically 75% of the territory's revenue. As we are the first tourist and commercial destination in Europe, I let you imagine what what can represent the complete closure .... There is Disney, but also everything that goes around. "
