According to the balance of payments statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the current account balance in May, which shows how much Japan has earned through foreign trade and financial transactions, was a surplus of ¥1,176.8 billion. Compared to the same month last year, the surplus amount fell by ¥454.3 billion, a 27.9% decrease.
