Development history of Beijing suburban railway
On August 6, 2008, the S2 line was opened for operation, operating the Beijing North Station-Yanqing Station.
On December 21, 2012, the S2 line extended to Shacheng Station in Huailai County, Hebei Province, operating sections Beijing North Station-Yanqing Station, Beijing North Station-Shacheng Station.
On December 31, 2017, the city's sub-center line and Huairou-Miyun line opened for operation. Beijing West Railway Station-Tongzhou Station in the operation section of the urban sub-center line, Huangtudian Station-Huairou North Station in the operation section of the Huairou-Miyun Line.
On April 30, 2019, the Huairou-Miyun Line will be fully operational, and the operation section will be adjusted to Huangtudian Station-Gubeikou Station.
On June 20, 2019, the urban sub-center line extended east to Qiaozhuang East Station, and the operation section was adjusted to Beijing West Station-Qiaozhuang East Station.
On December 30, 2019, the departure and arrival stations on the Huairou-Miyun Line moved from Huangtudian Station to Qinghe Station, and the operating section was adjusted to Qinghe Station-Gubeikou Station.

The Tongmi line utilizes the existing Beijing-Chengcheng line section, Huailian line and Jingtong line section, and runs suburban trains from Tongzhou West Station to Miyun North Station (main line) and Tongzhou West Station to Huairou North Station (branch line). The line has a total length of 83.4 kilometers and connects Tongzhou, Shunyi, Huairou and Miyun districts, with 7 stations including Tongzhou West Station, Shunyi Station, Niulanshan Station, Huairou Station, Miyun North Station, Yanqi Lake Station and Huairou North Station. The opening of the line will open up the rail transit corridor of the regional connection center city and the city sub-center in the northeast of the city, and realize the connection between the northeast new city, Huairou Science City, the international capital, the north of the city sub center and the center city.
