Yoon Mo, a 30-year-old office worker, has been using the Kakao Bank check card for over 2 years.

This is because they were attracted to the cashback system, which earns money or points for customers who buy goods or use services.

Yoon purchased an item from an online shopping mall last month and received a cashback of 5,000 won for purchases of 50,000 won or more, and canceled it for personal reasons.

However, after a few days, I paid over 50,000 won this time, but I did not earn cash back.

When I contacted the customer center, the explanation that came back was embarrassing.

"If there is a power to cancel the payment, it is possible to apply the cashback only by handwriting input at the customer's request."

particular, Kakao Bank did not inform customers of these facts in terms and conditions or product guide.

Kakao Bank's cashback system has been in progress for more than two years, and over 10 million check cards have been issued with this benefit.

Kakao Bank said, "We have completed an investigation on the payments made for cashback." We will identify the missing cases and pay them in full by next month.

The Financial Supervisory Service will determine whether the Kakao Bank's incomplete sales or intentionality is determined by understanding the facts.
