National lottery sales
Affected by the new coronary pneumonia epidemic, national lottery sales continued to decline year-on-year. In May, the country sold a total of 29.222 billion yuan in lottery tickets, a year-on-year decrease of 6.302 billion yuan, down 17.7%. Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions were 14.012 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.481 billion yuan, down 15.0%; the sales of sports lottery institutions were 15.210 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.821 billion yuan, down 20.1%.
From January to May, the country sold a total of 90.33 billion yuan in lottery tickets, a year-on-year decrease of 87.499 billion yuan, down 49.2%. Among them, the sales of welfare lottery institutions amounted to 43.791 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 37.848 billion yuan, down 46.2%; the sales of sports lottery institutions amounted to 46.339 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 49.651 billion yuan, down 51.7%.

Lottery sales by type
In May, the lottery digital lottery sales were 23.215 billion yuan, an increase of 4.18 billion yuan, an increase of 22.0%; the quiz type lottery sales were 2.716 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.834 billion yuan, down 71.6%; that is, the open lottery ticket sales were 2.363 billion yuan. The year-on-year decrease was 239 million yuan, a decrease of 9.2%; the video lottery ticket sales were 916 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.405 billion yuan, a decrease of 78.8%; the Keno lottery ticket sales were 11 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 0.04 billion yuan, a decrease of 24.5%. In May, the lottery digital, quiz, instant, video, and keno lottery sales accounted for 79.4%, 9.3%, 8.1%, 3.1%, and 0.1% of the total lottery sales respectively.
From January to May, the lottery digital lottery sales were 67.509 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 24.983 billion yuan, a decrease of 27.0%; the quiz lottery ticket sales were 10.721 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 41.948 billion yuan, a decrease of 79.6%; the open lottery ticket sales were 85.09 100 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 3.011 billion yuan, a decrease of 26.1%; video-type lottery ticket sales of 3.566 billion yuan, a decrease of 17.518 billion yuan, a decrease of 83.1%; Keno type lottery ticket sales of 0.25 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 39 million yuan, a decrease of 60.9%. From January to May, lottery digital, quiz, instant, video and keno lottery sales accounted for 74.7%, 11.9%, 9.4%, 3.9% and 0.1% of the total lottery sales respectively.

Lottery sales by region
In May, compared with the same period of the previous year, there were three provinces in Xinjiang, Tibet and Qinghai, where sales of lottery increased, with an increase of 183 million yuan, 134 million yuan and 22 million yuan respectively. Cumulatively from January to May, compared with the same period of last year, the sales of lottery tickets in all provinces of the country have declined.
