By June 20th, exports had decreased by more than 7% from the same period last year.

The export hit following Corona 19 continues.

According to the Korea Customs Service on the 22nd, the provisional export amount on the 1st to 20th of this month was $25 billion, down 7.5% ($20.4 billion) from the same period last year.

During this period, the number of working days (16 days) was 1.5 days more than last year (14.5 days).

The average daily export reduction rate reflecting the difference in the number of working days was 16.2%.

Exports such as passenger cars (-36.7%), petroleum products (-40.9%), and home appliances (-14.9%) were sluggish in the count without considering the number of operating days.

Ships (35.5%) and wireless communication equipment (10.9%) exports showed double-digit growth, while semiconductors (2.6%) slightly increased.

By exporting countries, exports contracted in major markets such as the United States (-10.0%), the European Union (EU·-13.9%), Vietnam (-8.0%), Japan (-16.0%), and the Middle East (-19.0%).

On the other hand, exports from China (14.5%) and Singapore (16.7%) increased.

By 20th this month, imports were also $24.5 billion, down 12.0% ($33.6 billion) from the same month last year.
