China News Network, Hangzhou, June 18 (Reporter Qian Chenfei, intern Xu Qiaochu) At 7 o'clock on the 18th, flights GJ8817 and GJ8757 took off from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (hereinafter referred to as Hangzhou Airport) at the same time. The "flying together" of the two passenger planes means that the airport has become a "dual runway" airport, and its operating efficiency can be increased by more than 30%.

As of the end of 2019, Hangzhou Airport, which has an annual passenger throughput of over 40 million passengers, has two runways and three terminals. Due to restrictions on the use of airspace, Hangzhou Airport has been using the "one-landing" dual-runway isolation mode of operation since the second runway was put into operation. Although it has two runways, two flights cannot take off or land at the airport at the same time.

In December 2019, the China Civil Aviation East China Regional Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Civil Aviation East China Bureau) reviewed and approved the independent operation flight procedures of the Hangzhou Airport Double Runway. In May of this year, the Civil Aviation East China Bureau interpreted the airspace structure adjustment and independent operation flight procedures in Hangzhou, adjusted the airspace structure of the Hangzhou area, and established the independent operation flight procedures of the parallel runway of Hangzhou Airport.

It is reported that after the implementation of independent flight procedures for parallel runways at Hangzhou Airport, the two runways can complete the tasks of independent take-off and landing aircraft, and truly achieve the sharing of resources, flexible use and efficiency improvement in the airspace.

According to the evaluation of the East China Civil Aviation Bureau, after the full implementation of the "dual runway", the operating efficiency of Hangzhou Airport can be increased by more than 30%, and the hourly flight volume increased by more than one third.

On that day, the airspace structure adjustment plan for the Hangzhou area was also officially implemented. On the basis of the optimization and adjustment of the airspace structure, the new version of flight procedures can use new technologies to optimize the accuracy of route planning in key areas at the 100-meter level and achieve the technical indicators of independent operation of dual runways.
