Gasoline prices across the country have risen for three weeks in a row, exceeding 1,300 won per liter.

According to the Korea Petroleum Corporation's oil price information service Opinet, the weekly gasoline sales price of gas stations across the country in the second week of this month was 1,305.6 won per liter, up 27.5 won from the previous week.

Gasoline prices have been rising for the third week in a row in the fourth week of May.

The rise also increased to 9.8 won, 17.5 won, and 27.5 won per liter.

Previously, gasoline gas prices declined for more than 4 months from January due to coronavirus infection (Corona19) and the drop in international oil prices.

From April, international oil prices began to rise again, and gasoline prices at domestic gas stations rebounded from mid-May.

In particular, gasoline prices in Seoul in the second week of this month rose 28.8 won per liter from last week to 1,403.1 won.

After about a month and a half, it was folded back to 1,400 won.

International oil prices, which have a decisive effect on gas station prices, also continued to rise.

The price of Dubai oil, which is the basis for crude oil imported into Korea, has risen to $41.3 per barrel, up by $2.1.

This is more than twice the monthly Dubai oil price in April ($20.4 per barrel).

The Korea National Oil Corporation explained, "The international oil price has risen due to the agreement to extend the OPEC+ production cut for one month, and to forecast oil prices from major investment banks."
