SNCF must review its traffic projections for the summer period. While for July and August, the railway company had planned 100% of the trains usually running the summer, it sees itself in the obligation to remove some since this Tuesday, reports BFM TV. Many travelers who had already booked their trip received emails and text messages informing them that their ticket was canceled.

However, since June 2, the SNCF had the authorization to sell all the places of its trains. What imagine to make full trips. But the SNCF estimates that it will never manage to fill its trains. For now, the level of reservations is between 10 and 15% for this month of July and 6% for the following month.

Possibility of exchange or refund

The company specifies however that there are always trains before and after those which were deleted. Affected customers can choose between a refund or an exchange. This is also the case for all those who have taken tickets for the summer period, even if their train is maintained.

Customers also have the option of placing an option on a trip and paying for it later, once they are certain to travel. Finally, the SNCF and the regions are determined to have the French travel on TER this summer. Two million tickets are thus offered between one and ten euros.
