The data shows that the growth rate of bank accounts has slowed. As of the end of the first quarter, 11.515 billion bank accounts were opened nationwide, an increase of 1.43% from the previous month, and the growth rate decreased by 1.61 percentage points from the end of the previous quarter.

  Statistics of the payment business in the first quarter of 2020 show that due to public health events, the growth of the number of bank accounts has slowed down, the volume of non-cash payment business has declined slightly, the business volume of the payment clearing system has been relatively stable, and the overall operation of the national payment system has been stable.

  The number of unit bank accounts maintained growth. As of the end of the first quarter, a total of 69.827 million bank accounts were opened nationwide, an increase of 2.20% month-on-month, and the growth rate decreased by 0.25 percentage points from the end of the previous quarter. Among them, basic deposit accounts were 50.154 million, general deposit accounts were 15.709 million, special deposit accounts were 3.827 million, and temporary deposit accounts were 181,500, accounting for 71.78%, 22.48%, 5.48%, and 0.26% of the total bank account of the unit, respectively. In the first quarter, basic deposit accounts increased by 1.0186 million, general deposit accounts increased by 422,200, special deposit accounts increased by 55,300, and temporary deposit accounts increased by 0.09 million.

  The number of personal bank accounts increased slightly. By the end of the first quarter, 11.445 billion personal bank accounts had been opened nationwide, an increase of 161 million from the end of the previous quarter, an increase of 1.43% from the previous quarter, and a growth rate of 1.62 percentage points from the end of the previous quarter. There are 8.17 bank accounts per capita.
