The Ministry of Energy of Belarus stated that "over the past period of 2020, there has been a tendency to lower prices for Russian gas supplied to Europe - both spot and long-term contracts."

“In this regard, the Belarusian side once again noted the need to review gas prices for Belarus with the determination of its correct and fair level,” TASS reports.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the Russian Ministry of Energy Alexander Novak held talks with the Minister of Energy of Belarus Viktor Karankevich in a video conference.

At the end of May, Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller announced that the Russian company would be ready to begin negotiations on gas supplies to Belarus in 2021 after resolving the issue with the country's debt. According to him, the amount of “Belarusian debt” is $ 165 million.

In turn, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus stated that the Belarusian side had no debt for imported natural gas.
