Joint development with Rakuten and NEC 5G system Aiming to sell overseas June 3 20:21

Rakuten has announced that it will develop a new communication standard, a 5G system, in collaboration with NEC, and put it into practical use next year, as well as aiming to sell it to overseas communication companies.

According to the announcement, Rakuten and NEC will work together in the field of 5G, a new high-speed, large-capacity communication standard, and will jointly develop equipment that controls communication.

It means that we will put these 5G systems into practical use next year, and aim to sell them not only to domestic services that Rakuten will start in the future, but also to overseas telecommunications companies.

Rakuten is a mobile phone business that made a full-scale entry in April this year. It is a low-cost method that uses a highly versatile device by suppressing the use of a dedicated communication device or performs communication processing in the cloud. We are developing a network, and we plan to promote similar efforts in 5G.

Rakuten said, "We have already received inquiries from overseas carriers and aim to provide a reliable 5G system in Japan and the world."
