“Today, the Bank of Canada has kept the key rate,” the statement said.
It is clarified that the regulator considers the rate level of 0.25% to be an effective lower threshold.
The Central Bank indicates that the pandemic in Canada led to significant losses in production and the number of jobs, but "the Canadian economy has avoided the most serious scenarios."
Earlier, the Turkish Central Bank decided to reduce the key rate to 8.25%.
