we analyzed the virus of confirmers related to the Itaewon Club, we reported yesterday (21st) that it was a different type from the virus that spread around the Sincheonji Church in Daegu. I did. As a result of analyzing the domestic confirmers, all three types A, B, and C are now in the world. Type A is the patient who came from abroad and Wuhan residents in China, and type B is Shincheonji Daegu Church and Qingdao. Authorities say it was confirmed by confirmers at Daenam Hospital. And type C was detected in people from the United States and Europe and recently confirmed by Itaewon clubs. As I said yesterday, the 14 types of Itaewon club-related confirmed the same type C virus that is currently prevalent in the United States and Europe, and the question is, how does this type C virus differ from others in transmission power and risk? .

Type C, which is popular in Europe and the United States, entered Korea relatively later than Type A and Type B.

However, it is closely related to recent collective infections.

The C virus is the cause of the epidemic from clubs in Yecheon, Gyeongbuk, where 41 patients were diagnosed for the first time on the 9th of last month, and the Itaewon Club, which recently had more than 200 confirmed cases in the metropolitan area.

This trend is similar in other countries.

After the introduction of the C type, the C type overwhelmed the A and B types in almost all countries including Europe, the Americas, Japan, Taiwan and Australia.

Since the spread of type C is faster than other genotypes, neglecting quarantine means that there is a greater risk of spreading type C in Korea.

Existing vaccine development strategies should also be devised broadly.

Health officials say there are no genetic mutations affecting the effectiveness of vaccines, but experts say that the vaccine's antibody effects have yet to be accurately understood, so it is necessary to look closely to see if it can be applied to both types B and C.
