July WTI crude futures rose 2.21% to $ 34.23 a barrel.
Futures for Brent crude for July delivery increased 2.18% to $ 36.53 per barrel.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Energy, Alexander Novak, had a telephone discussion with the US Secretary of Energy Dan Bruyett about the situation in the oil market.
