" At this time 310,000 self-employed people plan to close this year and 40% of the total is on the tightrope , doubting whether it will be able to maintain its activity this year." The Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA) today publishes its barometer on the situation of the self-employed and, relying on the results, they warn of the complicated situation in which many of the self-employed workers find themselves.

"10.3% of the self-employed affirm that they will have to close", a figure that "is aggravated by the fact that 40.5% of those surveyed affirm that in principle they will continue with the activity, but it is not clear whether it will be able to continue or it will have to close ", the document results from the more than 3,000 surveys carried out by ATA. "Against these data, 47.1% of the self-employed affirm that they will continue with their activity and it is not among their thoughts to close," he adds.

Likewise, the work reveals that " nine out of ten freelancers affirm that their turnover will decrease in 2020 and of them, 72.5% put this decrease at more than 40%". "Only 1% of the self-employed consider that it will close the year with a turnover higher than that of 2019," he adds.

And considering possible layoffs, 33% of the self-employed plan to decrease their workforce in the coming months, while 45% expect to be able to keep it. A notable 20% are unable to answer this question.
