After two months of almost total shutdown, traders hope that the barges are not too chilly despite the threat of the Covid-19, and take advantage of the good weather to shop during this first weekend of deconfinement.

REPORTAGE

Summer is coming, and the urge to complete your wardrobe with it. After a rather promising week, the first weekend of deconfinement gives merchants hope, after two months of almost total sales halt, a strong influx in stores ... but in compliance with the protection rules against coronavirus .

"We are ready to welcome customers, to show them that we have products available, with promotions, we look forward to them." For Jean-Baptiste, a seller in a ready-to-wear store in a shopping center in western Paris, this first unconfined weekend will serve as a test. According to him, all the conditions are met for customers to be there. "Knowing that the weather is rather nice, the people of the region would be more likely to come to the center ... We are waiting, we hope in any case."

Respect for protective measures

Obviously, the constraints are always the same: not too many customers on the shelves at the same time, for example. The crowds will not be that of a weekend of sales, but after a rather successful first week, Lilian remains optimistic behind the counter of his decoration store. "We thought we were going to have no one, that people were going to be afraid to come back to the store. But to my surprise, they are happy, very pleasant too. This Saturday, we should have people!"

At the checkout of her underwear shop, Camille is more worried. She does not want to spend her weekend repeating the safety instructions. "If it's like Monday, the first day of deconfinement, it's going to be quite complicated! We are still supposed to respect the rules, on the number of people in the store, disinfection ... but most people don't follow them not ", she gets annoyed.

These traders hope in particular that this first weekend will make it possible to sell off part of the stocks to install, finally, the new collections.
