• Zara.Inditex opens some of its smallest stores in all of Spain

The reopening of stores in France, following the forced closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, has gone viral. The reason? The long lines of people, in some cases of up to a kilometer, that have been seen at the doors of the shops of Zara, the flagship of Inditex.

The establishments opened at 10 in the morning, which has not prevented, in some cases, people waiting for the reopening from 8 in the morning, sometimes complying with the relevant social distance.

These images have been the subject of discussion on social networks, mainly on Twitter, where the irony of some users was not lacking: "Do they sell Zara clothes or brains?", Could be read in the comments below the publications.

Paris has been the main focus, but not the only one. Some journalists and French citizens have tweeted images of other large cities such as Lyon and Bordeaux, where they have also witnessed the long lines since the early hours of the morning.

The vast majority of French comments accuse the lack of civilization and irresponsibility on the part of people who went to stores without respecting the safety distance and without wearing masks.

In Spain, Inditex began opening "some of its stores" on May 7. These are establishments of less than 400 square meters, as established by the decree of the zero phase of de-escalation.

The opening has taken place by appointment (the telephone number that customers can call appears in the stores) and always in accordance with the protocol for security measures set by the Government. They have gel dispensers on the box lines and marks on the floor that indicate to customers the safety distance they have to maintain.

WITHOUT ERTE

Inditex closed its stores throughout Spain on March 13, the day before the state of alarm was decreed.

The textile group has not presented ERTE in March or April and has paid the full salary to these employees. In addition, during these weeks, it has made available to the authorities its powerful logistics network and has made weekly shipments of medical equipment from China, where it has factories. In all this time, it has brought to Spain more than 35 million units of protection against Covid.
