The Assistant Undersecretary for the Industry Sector in the Ministry of Energy and Industry, Eng. Amir said in statements to Al-Oula Radio today, that the main goal is to take advantage of the crisis and opportunities that can be exploited for development, as the state is currently heading to develop a clear vision to support the strategic industries that are of utmost importance to the local market, especially the medical and food sectors, in order to achieve the provision of national sufficiency Among them, to confront the needs of markets versus crises, as well as to promote and complete digital transformation, automation and remote manufacturing, which reflects it is a top priority for the sector under the current conditions, through several solutions such as 3D printing, manufacturing, etc., and also continuing to implement the UAE policy C for advanced industries, which would develop the sector and accelerate its steps towards the future.


He stated that the Ministry, through continuous coordination with members of the Coordinating Council for Industry and Local Departments, contacted more than 5,000 factories through a comprehensive questionnaire to study the challenges that were reflected on the factories and the owners of productive companies, accordingly identifying challenges and consensus on the proposals put forth by the industrialists and the solutions developed by the ministry To meet the needs of local factories against the status quo.


Amir stated that the industrial sector in all countries, including the UAE, was clearly affected by the Corona pandemic for several reasons, foremost of which is restricting the import and export movement of raw materials and industry inputs from some countries or the measures that have been taken with regard to social divergence and prevention, which have affected the progress of operations Manufacturing.


He drew attention to the features of interest in the health industrial sector by referring to the cooperation in force with the Ministry of Health and local health departments, in order to accelerate the completion of a five-stage plan that includes identifying priority products from the medical sector and determining local consumption and productive capacities that exist today, and identify existing gaps, in addition to future opportunities and opportunities Investment and enhance the presence of manufacturers and transfer of expertise and huge potential.
