The Spanish tourism sector will have a guarantee seal, called "safe tourism certified", for hotels, restaurants, tourist apartments, hostels ... that accredit maximum safety and hygiene measures for the prevention of Covid-19.
Other countries already have this seal, such as Portugal, which has the Covid Free seal . Tourism has not wanted to use the same name, since, explain close sources, "nobody can assure and guarantee 100% to a client that a space is free of risk."
What this seal will guarantee for Spanish tourism is that the establishments in the different subsectors mentioned above have strict safety and hygiene protocols to prevent the virus.
The seal has been created by the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE) , the Secretary of State for Tourism, the Autonomous Communities and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
Companies in the sector will be able to choose, as a guarantee mark for customers, and will obtain this seal after having passed an audit carried out by independent companies.
ICTE has been developing a sanitary protocol for two weeks to apply to the entire tourist sector when it opens. They are concrete measures, of hygiene and security, to apply in hotels, hostels, camping sites ... This draft will be sent to the Ministry of Health for approval.
