Increased handling volume due to the spread of the new type of coronavirus infection at 8:20 on May 8

The number of Yu-Packs handled by Japan Post last March increased by 16% compared to the previous year. It is believed that this is due to the increased use of online shopping, etc. against the backdrop of self-restraint due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

According to Japan Post, the number of Yu-Packs handled this March was more than 88.79 million, an increase of 16.4% compared to the same month last year.

The rate of increase is expanding from 13.2% in February this year, and I think that Japan Post is due to increased use of online shopping and flea market apps against the backdrop of refraining from going out due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

On the other hand, international mail decreased by 20.4% to 2.81 million due to the suspension of acceptance of some packages destined for China.

Overall mail and parcels, including letters and postcards, fell 7.8% compared to the same month last year.

As the number of Yu-Packs is expected to continue to increase, Japan Post has temporarily stopped accepting redelivery on the same day since last month to maintain stable delivery.
