The textile giant Inditex, owner of chains such as Zara, Oysho, Uterqüe or Stradivarius, among others, will start tomorrow to open some of its stores throughout Spain within this phase 0 of de-escalation.

Starting tomorrow, they will gradually open "some stores" of their brands in different parts of the country. They will be establishments of less than 400 square meters (as indicated by the decree of phase 0 of the de-escalation). The brands of the textile group are Zara, Oysho, Berskha, Uterqüe, Pull & Bear, Zara Home, Stradivarius and Massimo Dutti.

It is a matter of "giving a testimonial service to customers" at this moment in which commercial activity is gradually being resumed, sources close to the company point out.

The opening will be by appointment (in stores the telephone number that customers can call appears) and always in accordance with the security measures protocol set by the Government. There will be gel dispensers on the box lines and marks on the floor that tell customers the safe distance to keep.

Phase 1

In the following phases, the sanitary protocol will proceed: there will be alternate testers and the garments that the clients have tried and have not worn will be disinfected.

Although in this first phase you will only be able to go to the stores by appointment, these measures are already applied and will serve as a "filming" for the following phases, specifically phase 1, when the stores can be opened without an appointment (but with capacity restriction).

In this phase 0, in the stores that open there will be a preferential time slot for those over 65 years old (as established by the regulations).

Without ERTE

Inditex closed its stores throughout Spain on March 13, the day before the state of alarm was decreed.

The activity in these stores that open from tomorrow will be gradually incorporated by employees. Inditex has not carried out ERTE (Temporary Employment Regulation file) for the approximately 24,000 store employees who have been without activity these two months.

The textile group has not presented ERTE in March or April and has paid the full salary to these employees. In addition, during these weeks, it has made available to the authorities its powerful logistics network and has made weekly shipments of medical equipment from China, where it has factories. In all this time, it has brought to Spain more than 35 million units of protection against Covid.
