The Amazon group, which has interrupted part of its activities in France, has requested partial unemployment for its employees. But the administration refused, according to the government.

Amazon on Thursday asked for partial unemployment for its six French sites whose activity has been suspended, a request refused by the administration, AFP learned Monday from the management of the American logistics giant and the Ministry of Labor.

A request for "10,000 people"

Management said it had "applied for partial unemployment for six sites, or about 10,000 people, which was unsuccessful." The ministry said it received a request "Thursday" and turned it down.
