The Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi directed owners of restaurants, cafeterias and food delivery outlets terms and instructions to practice its activity at the level of the Abu Dhabi Emirate in line with preventive and precautionary measures to combat Corona virus infection (Covid-19) in order to re-activate the practice of this activity and provide services to society in accordance with guidelines and guidelines that maintain Safety and health of individual consumers.

And the department determined in a circular to it in this regard that the capacity of restaurants to receive visitors does not exceed 30% as a maximum, in order to maintain the requirement for spacing between individuals while allowing two people a maximum in each table and to adopt a distance of 2.5 meters as a minimum between the tables.

And the department stressed in its circular the importance of daily and continuous sterilization of the restaurant, especially tables and chairs after each use, not to use dishes, glass cups and metal spoons, and commitment to using dishes, cups and spoons for one-time use only to ensure the safety of the restaurant goers and ensure that they use sterile tools.

And the department stipulated for restaurants to perform all hygiene, sterilization and prevention procedures continuously for cooking equipment, food carts and places to prepare and serve meals through the use of sterilization materials and tools that are used for one time as inspection and monitoring teams from the relevant authorities will review the extent of commitment in applying these conditions.

The department urged restaurant owners to encourage consumers to use electronic payment systems instead of the available cash payment and to provide sterilizers for hands when entering the restaurant and at places of payment and to ensure that masks and gloves are worn for consumers as well as workers with constantly changing them during their work period in a procedure that explains the importance of everyone’s commitment to this in various public places.

The Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi stressed in its circular the necessity of preventing workers from entering the restaurant in the event of any satisfactory symptoms upon them during the daily examination of heat and the necessity of sending them for examination at the nearest health center while continuing to prevent the provision of "hookah" shisha in all establishments during the period of application of procedures.

The department also stressed the importance of the commitment of all establishments of restaurants, cafeterias and meal delivery outlets to immediately implement these instructions, as inspection and control campaigns will be implemented from all relevant authorities to determine the application of what was stated in the circular, and violations will be recorded with a right that violates their implementation.
