In detail, the director of the “Khaled Fouda General Trading Company,” Ahmed Khaled Fouda, said that the supply of foodstuffs to the state continues intensively and without interruption, during the month of Ramadan and beyond.

He stressed that between 100 and 150 containers, which include more than 5,000 tons of vegetables and fruits, enter the country daily, during the month of Ramadan, according to signed supply contracts.

Fouda added that the supply operations go completely smooth without any obstacles, thanks to the great cooperation shown by the government authorities with suppliers in all sectors, and the facilities granted by them in freight operations, putting the fleets of national carriers in the service of supply operations, and providing very appropriate quotations for freight operations, In addition to ensuring fast entry of food shipments from and out of ports, in addition to facilitating movement during the national sterilization campaign.

Imported meat

For his part, the president of the «Hebron Foodstuff Company», Abdel Fattah Al-Bayd, said that meat is being imported in large quantities, covering the special needs of consumers, during and after the month of Ramadan.

He stressed that there are large quantities in the stores, sufficient for some of the future needs, noting that the quantities imported from meat ranged between 70 and 100 tons per day, in addition to fresh local meat.

Al-Bayd revealed that the meat supplies in the current month of Ramadan exceed the quantities of the previous month of Ramadan, due to the intervention of the local authorities in facilitating the supply operations, through the operation of special aircraft to ship food, in addition to the large facilities in the ports, which made there a large strategic store.

For his part, the official in the food supply company, Sami Mansour, agreed with his counterparts that the food supply operations are being conducted in an active and smooth manner, in light of the great cooperation of officials with the suppliers to overcome any obstacles to importing.

He explained that thousands of tons of food are imported daily by air, sea, and land, which is evident in the availability of goods in large quantities in sales outlets, as well as a large surplus in stores, to ensure that the prices of any commodity do not rise, and that there is sufficient reserves to meet any possible changes in any Market from the countries of origin.

In the same context, Sherif Waheed, director of “Sour and Sweet Trading Company for the Supply of Food and Vegetables” said that the agreements to supply foodstuffs from the countries of origin are continuing, despite the current circumstances, especially with a large number of countries providing easy air and sea shipping, after it was He has been facing restrictions for more than a month.

He added that the circumstances of facing the new Corona virus (Covid 19), and preparing for Ramadan, have stimulated a large number of food supply companies to expand contracts and diversify supply sources from different countries, pointing out that his company was dealing with 20 countries before the month of Ramadan, and has now expanded to reach They number to 50 countries.

He emphasized that the expansion of foreign contracts and diversification of supply sources, stimulated by the Ministry of Economy and local departments, supported price stability since the beginning of Ramadan, and greatly enhanced the abundance of supply in the market.

He pointed out that his company has import shipments that will arrive in the coming periods, including 350 tons of onions from India, 1500 tons of citrus varieties from Turkey and Egypt, in addition to 20 tons of cheese and dairy products from Jordan.
