Two glasses of red wine - Petite Atelier Ramey

  • In order to support the cash flow of owners of cafes and restaurants, the "J'aime mon bistrot" platform has enabled customers to pre-order coffee, wine, beer, cocktail or even a meal online for three weeks, for a amount from 1.50 to 50 euros.
  • These pre-orders in the form of vouchers make it possible to financially help establishments that have been damaged since confinement and also to quickly reconnect with their little neighborhood habits once "deconfined".
  • In New Aquitaine, 538 restaurants and bars joined the platform for a total of 1,855 orders. In Bordeaux, the system is being emulated, encouraged above all by "expressions of sympathy".

"It's a pebble in the pond, but it's better than nothing. "Franck Faux has been registered on I love my bistro for three weeks and already this owner of two stores in Bordeaux (Lord Lion and Jamboree) feels that the recovery" will be nice ". The platform, created a few days after March 15 and the closure of restaurants, bars or cafes, allows customers to pre-order online coffee, glass of wine or beer or even the charcuterie board and the meal they will consume once these establishments are "deconfigured". "I have a dozen orders from the two addresses," explains Franck Faux. It is nothing compared to what I could do in normal times, but it is especially nice to be able to read expressions of sympathy, to see that the regulars are always there. "

How it works ? Based on "order today, consume tomorrow" and in two parts. Launched by a collective of more than 60 professionals in the sector (National Federation of Beverages, Brasseurs de France, France Beverages, Pernaud Ricard, Lavazza, etc.), the platform offers point of sale information content necessary in times of crisis (regulations , legal support, etc.) and allows customers to inflate the solidarity fund by anticipating their “consumption of deconfines” for an amount of 1.50 to 50 euros. In three weeks, 7,000 establishments have registered and 18,000 pre-orders have been placed, for a solidarity kitty which reaches 1.2 million euros.

"It revives us when we have been closed since March 15"

"We communicated less than ten days ago, so the success is fairly rapid. There is a real chain of solidarity, underlines Thierry Caloin, CHD (out-of-home consumption) sales director at Kronenbourg. During this period, we realize that we make decisions much more quickly, that we converge on common goals. To see Kronenbourg and Heineken work together while they have been competing for years is unprecedented. We now know that we can bring together and support even more establishments. "

Proof of success, the collective which had set itself the objective of increasing the amount of the first 10,000 baskets by 50% quickly rose to 20,000. For any pre-order of 10 euros, 5 euros are thus "offered" by the group. The 10 euros are immediately transferred to the point of sale to "support the cash" and the 5 euros transferred to the opening of the bar or restaurant. “It shows that we are supported by the sector and that the regulars will be there at the exit, comments Franck Faux. For now, I only have ten orders, but some reach the maximum basket, or 50 euros. "We keep in touch with repeat customers and then, if everyone gets started, we'll get there," adds Ronan Queré, from the Bistrot des Frérots in Bordeaux. It revives us when we have been closed since March 15. Suddenly, we are thinking of reopening a few days a week to offer take-out. "

538 participating establishments in New Aquitaine

On the platform, the average basket is close to 46 euros. It is 49 euros in Occitanie, where 550 establishments are registered. In New Aquitaine, 538 restaurants, cafes and bars joined J'aime mon bistrot (180 in Gironde), 1,855 orders were placed (798 in Gironde) for an amount of nearly 75,000 euros (47 euros for the average basket, 43 euros in Gironde).

The range is high, the customers generous and this does not surprise Thierry Caloin: “For many French people, going to the bistro is part of the ritual of everyday life. It is important to them to quickly find their favorite counter or terrace, to enjoy a peaceful and warm atmosphere. It is when you are deprived of something that you realize its value. And the bistro is our heritage. "
