The Dubai Economic Department decided to amend the "fees for issuing the instant license" issued by it for commercial activities in Dubai, especially general trade activity, through electronic services only, from 3000 dirhams to 250 dirhams only, and also in the event of renewing the license, with a decrease of about 92% .
The Dubai Economy stated that the immediate license provides the option to issue an electronic incorporation contract, obtain the license and the commercial registry of the company, and membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry through the same procedure immediately. He was also able to obtain the card of the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs facility immediately, in addition to the Ministry of Human Resources and Resettlement facility facility, as the customer receives a text message after issuing the license by agreeing to three permits for employees.
She pointed out that the property of registering employees (citizens) in the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation was added when issuing the immediate license, within the framework of implementing Emiratization decisions approved by the Council of Ministers, headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State and Prime Minister Ruler Dubai, encouraging the private sector to attract citizens and develop their capabilities and skills, and preparing national competencies to lead the competitive knowledge economy competently.
The “immediate license” initiative contributes to reducing human interaction by automating the procedures for licensing, in addition to obtaining a commercial license. The initiative also includes allowing businessmen to start practicing the business immediately after the license is issued, and then completing the rest of the requirements of the commercial license, such as approvals from government agencies Other concerned.
550 instant licenses
The registration and commercial licensing sector in the Dubai Economy stated that it issued 550 licenses immediately during the first quarter of 2020, pointing out that the process of issuing an "instant license" takes only five minutes, with the option to issue an electronic founding contract, and a virtual site for the first year only.
According to the sector, the immediate licenses issued were distributed according to the activity, led by commercial activities by 73%, and professionalism by 27%.
Nationalities of license holders
A report issued by the sector indicated that the number of those who possess an "immediate license", which covers more than 1,400 economic activities, during the first quarter of this year, reaches 1746 investors, of whom 88% of businessmen constitute women, while businesswomen form 12%.
The nationalities of those who obtained the instant license varied during the first quarter of 2020 to include businessmen from Britain, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, India, Pakistan, China, Sudan and the Philippines.
Legal forms
The legal forms of the instant license include four types: a limited liability company, a one-person company, an individual institution, and a civil business company. According to Dubai’s economy, it is possible for project owners through the “immediate license” to obtain a general commercial license via the Internet, and it includes general trade activity, in addition to all activities that do not require external approvals, and are allowed for both citizens and residents.
