The Federal Road FGTE-CFDT Union "calls all employees to a day of walkout in all companies of the CCNTR (national collective agreement for road transport of goods and passengers) on May 7, 2020", in a press release published Friday night. It also calls "the little forgotten hands in the service of our Nation to massively mourn".

5,500 reported cases of Covid-19 including 35 deaths

"While the State has granted a bonus for civil servants who are on the front line facing this pandemic, what about the soldiers of the CCNTR?" Wonders the federation. "All of these ambulance workers, truck drivers, traveler drivers, logistics staff and money couriers, who have been mobilized since the start of the crisis to ensure the continuity of the country's economic life, have already borne heavy tribute with no less than 5,500 cases of Covid-19 declared, including 35 deaths, "said the union. "In their memory", the UFR-CFDT invites employees in the sector to wear "black armbands" and put "black flags on personal and professional vehicles" in order to "raise public awareness so that the State give real gratitude to all these second line workers who are at the front. "

The union had already asked the government to help companies that cannot afford a bonus for their employees. For its part, the CFTC (4th) recently urged the Secretary of State for Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari to ensure the payment of a generalized premium of 1,000 euros for transport workers.
