A Kuwaiti investor has exempted all tenants from the tower he owns in the emirate of Sharjah from the value of one month's rent from the annual rent.
The general manager of Al Hassan Tower in Sharjah, Hamid Al Sarraf, said that a letter was sent to the tenants signed in the name of the owner of the tower, Abdulnabi Al Sarraf, informing them that they would be exempted from the month of the annual rent.
Hamid Al-Sarraf told «Emirates Today» that the current situation necessitates the solidarity of all parties socially, indicating that in these circumstances imposed by the new Corona virus, there must be solidarity among all groups of society, including landlords and tenants.
Al-Sarraf called on the other owners to launch special initiatives to support tenants, whether in the residential or commercial sector, and to alleviate economic pressures on them and help them overcome these emergency situations resulting from the crisis of "Corona".
For his part, the legal advisor and Charge d'Affaires of the Al-Sarraf Group, Ahmed Zidan, explained that the tower owner gave tenants two options, the first of which is to deduct the value of the month from the annual rent regardless of whether the contract is renewed or not, or they are given a month over and above the rental year so that it becomes 13 months instead of 12 months.
Zaidan pointed out that the owner of the tower set up other facilities for renter's defaulters, as all cases will be dealt with according to the circumstances of each case.
