The Ministry of Labor announced Thursday a cap on the daily amount usable for a meal voucher, until the restaurants reopen.

In this period of difficult confinement for the purchasing power of many French people, restaurant tickets will experience a small upheaval: the Ministry of Labor announced on Thursday that the current amount of expenditure on this means of payment would be uncapped from 19 to 95 euros per day, until the reopening of restaurants, planned for June 15 according to information from Europe 1.

Initially, it will be possible for the 4 million employees who own these meal vouchers to use them for shopping in a supermarket, for example. Then, when the restaurants have reopened, the amount of 95 euros per day will remain valid with restaurateurs: this will be the new ceiling put in place to relaunch the activity.

Expired titles for certain restaurants?

This would be a measure of purchasing power for the French concerned, but also a means of reviving the economy of an extremely penalized sector. It would also be a solution not to lose the value of these restaurant tickets.

Another measure is being studied: it would be possible to use the money from expired restaurant tickets, which we could not use, to pay it not to the CSE in companies, but to a fund of solidarity created for struggling restaurants.
