“We believe that this deal helped to prevent the oil markets from sliding into chaos and is now helping to maintain more or less stable price dynamics,” he told reporters.

Peskov called the deal important and noted that it speaks of the ability of oil-producing countries to reach consensus "in the name of stabilizing energy markets."

He also expressed confidence that the agreement will help keep prices from a landslide decline.

On April 12, OPEC + approved a new reduction in oil production from the level of October 2018. In May-June, Russia will reduce production by 2.5 million barrels per day.
